Lady Warrior field hockey traveled to Latrobe to take on the Wildcat field hockey team.  Fresh from their win against Hempfield,  the Wildcats played tough for both the JV and Varsity games.
The Warrior JV players played with intensity and skill throughout 2 periods of play.  Latrobe was able to score with 7 minutes left to win 1 - 0.
Varsity faced a much improved Latrobe squad and was able to defend several strong attacks including a goal line save by Madison Trainor that kept Latrobe off the scoreboard.  Offense focused shots on the Latrobe goalie and was able to score 3 times.  PT 3 - Latrobe 0.

Hempfield traveled to Warrior stadium to play hockey on a gorgeous evening.  PT was able to win both JV and Varsity matches.
JV: 1 - 0
Hempfield and PT played a highly competitive game that saw both teams with opportunities to score.  The Warrior defense was relentless and would not allow the ball to cross the line.  Their clears out of the circle allowed the offense to mount counter attacks.  Elissa Heinbaugh scored in the second period with 12 minutes left to play. She was assisted by Julia Moorhead.

The score does not reflect the intensity of the game and the opportunities that Hempfield had.
PT defense would not allow Hempfield access to the cage.  PT offense demonstrated exceptional passing and dodging skills as they were able to move the ball up field.  Hempfield's goalie made some great saves, but PT was able to get the ball across the line.

PTFH traveled to the other side of the world (felt like it in that heat! 1 hour 40 min on the bus) to Upper Saint Clair.
Despite best efforts, USC got the better of both teams

PTFH played Oakland Catholic on Wednesday, 9/20 at Warrior Stadium.
JV:  played a strong game and won 2 - 0

Penn - Trafford field hockey took on the Pine-Richland Rams at Warrior stadium Tuesday, September 19.   The Rams came out strong and dominated much of the first part of the first half. Penn-Trafford worked hard in defense and was then able to get the ball up the field.  Play went back and forth, but the Rams bested the Warriors.  The lone Warrior goal was scored on a corner by Natalie Norman, assisted by Sydney Smith.     PT 1 - PR 7          Goal:  Natalie Norman      Assist:  Sydney Smith
JV Recap: JV played  a fast paced game against the Pine-Richland JV Rams.  Warriors were able to get some shots on net.  The more experienced Rams found the back of the net several times.   PT 0 PR 6
Penn Trafford played Latrobe at Warrior Stadium on Thursday, September 14.
The JV saw good action but was unable to score.  JV lost 0-3
Varsity played a very offensive game against Latrobe-earning 17 penalty corners.
PT opened the scoring within 5 minutes of the opening whistle with a goal by Alayna Wagner, assisted by Emily Polakovsky.  The Warriors scored one more time in the first half when Emily Polakovsky scored with an assist by Jordyn Bachman.
Alayna Wagner opened the second half with an unassisted goal which was followed 10 minutes later by Jordyn Bachman's unassisted goal.
PT sent many excellent shots at the talented Latrobe Goalie (Senior Libby Jones)-  who tallied 27 saves.

9/12/17 – @Hempfield Game Results
PT Field hockey traveled to Hempfield 9/12/17.
JV – played well in their second outing. While Hempfield scored 2 goals, PT scored 1. Freshman Emma
Little scored, assisted by Julia Moorhead

Varsity came out strong against a feisty Hempfield squad. Rachel Gross scored first early in the first
half. Also scoring in the first half were Emily Polakovsky and Jordyn Bachman. Hempfield
responded with a goal of their own on a breakaway. The second half saw 3 more goals tallied
as PT gained momentum to control the half. Emily Polakovsky, Natalie Norman, and Alayna
Wagner all scored. Assists were tallied by Kaylie Melnick, Falon Murray, and Emily Polakovsky.

dominated the first half on the field and on the scoreboard Emily Polakovsky scored and
unassisted goal 6 minutes into the game. Mt. Lebanon came on strong in the second half
scoring 2 goals.

North Allegheny (9/6/17): Location: Warrior Stadium. (section game) PT played a consistent game
against NA, but NA was able to score 3 goals in the first half. Natalie Norman scored to get PT
on the board with 6 minutes left in the first half. She was assisted by Kaylie Melnick. PT was
unable to find the back of the net for the remainder of the game. NA scored in the second half.

Aquinas Academy(9/11/17): (non-section game): Location Warrior Stadium: PT got their first win
against Aquinas Academy. Playing consistent hockey and denying Aquinas access to the goal,
PT scored 2 in the first period and 2 in the second. A beautiful corner play goal was called back
in the second. Goals were scored in the first half by Kaylie Melnick, assisted by Emily
Polkovsky; Alayna Wagner, unassisted. Goals in the second half were Alayna Wagner,
unassisted; and Emily Polakovsky, assisted by Alayna Wagner.
